Bishop of Algarve addresses Catholic scouts
First source report
Bishop Vitorino Soares spoke to the Algarve Regional Council of the Corpo Nacional de Escutas on Saturday, October 17, at the Centro de Congressos de Lagoa. During the meeting, which included reviewing the 2024/2025 report and accounts and discussing election regulations, the bishop presented the scouts with three guiding principles: valorizar, comungar, and superar.
Soares explained that overcoming challenges should not be about becoming heroes, but about striving for holiness. He also emphasized that prayer and intimacy with Jesus are necessary for any mission or action within the Church.
