Diocese of Owensboro to hold Called by Name Weekend
First source report
The Diocese of Owensboro will host Called by Name Weekend on November 7 and 8, 2026, to encourage parishioners to identify potential candidates for priesthood or religious life.
The Office of Vocations asks parishes to announce the program during all Masses on the weekend of October 31 and November 1. During the week of National Vocation Awareness Week, which runs from November 1 to 6, parishioners are encouraged to pray for and reflect on individuals they believe may be open to a vocation. People can submit names of potential candidates using pew cards or an online form at the diocesan vocations website.
Those whose names are submitted will receive an invitation to an Andrew or Miriam dinner this spring. At these dinners, Bishop Medley will join participants to pray and discuss how to discern a vocation with the Church. Fr. Corey D. Bruns, the director of vocations, is available via email for those wishing to speak with a priest.
