Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle presided over a Mass in St. Peter’s Square on Wednesday, October 14, to conclude a weeklong Vatican gathering regarding challenges facing families. The event marked ten years since Pope Francis published the apostolic exhortation Amoris Laetitia.

Tagle, the new dean of the College of Cardinals, presided on behalf of Pope Leo XIV. The Mass took place following the official announcement of the Pope's cancer diagnosis. According to a Roman Curia employee, the gathering of bishops from around the world allowed the Church to pray for the Pope's health.
