Cardinal Müller defends Mary’s title “Co-Redemptrix”

Cardinal Gerhard Müller defended the title Co-Redemptrix for the Virgin Mary during an international Marian conference in Rome. In a talk titled The Blessed Virgin Mary’s Cooperation in Redemption, Müller stated that the title is not a misleading attribution or an exaggeration, but a truth objectively contained in Revelation.

These remarks follow a document issued nearly a year ago by the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith that discouraged the use of the title.
