Archbishop Mario Delpini invites Christian communities to support grieving families during the November liturgical season

Archbishop Mario Delpini has released a reflection regarding funerals and the support of families in mourning ahead of November 2. He stated that while grief for a loved one is personal, the community must promote a shared dimension of hope and sorrow. Delpini invited priests, deacons, and laity to accompany families through prayer and the animation of celebrations in churches, funeral homes, and cemeteries.

In Milan, the archbishop will preside over major celebrations at the Duomo, the Basilica of Sant'Ambrogio, and local cemeteries, including a specific moment for young people. Delpini emphasized the importance of direct contact with the relatives of the deceased and the practice of suffrage prayer.
