Lebanese students visit Nîmes for week of solidarity
First source report
Eight Lebanese youths and two teachers arrived in Nîmes on Wednesday, October 28, for a week of meetings with students from La Salle schools.
The visit, supported by Action Solidarité Entraide Lasallienne, follows several years of ties between the educational communities in Nîmes and Beirut. The group, consisting of both Catholics and Muslims, visited the Nîmes bishopric to learn about the life of the diocese.
On Friday, October 30, the students held a solidarity meal at the Saint-Jean-Baptiste de La Salle middle school. The event featured Lebanese specialties and allowed the visitors to present their work with the poor in Lebanon. Proceeds from the meal will support their charitable activities in Lebanon.
