Charita Olomouc to host 12th annual Den lidí bez domova

Charita Olomouc and the Dobré místo pro život association will host the 12th annual Day of the Homeless on Saturday, October 10, 2026. The event begins at 10:50 a.m. at Horní náměstí in Olomouc, where volunteers will serve various soups to raise money for the Kup oběd project. This project provides quality, regular meals for the poorest clients living in charity homes.

The proceeds from the event will fund the meal program. Each soup, served in a ceramic bowl made by visually impaired clients from the ERGONES social enterprise, costs 100. Dalibor Křepský of Dobré místo pro život noted that past events typically sell out within an hour.

The morning will feature ten types of soup, including borscht, goulash, and mushroom potato soup, prepared by local restaurants such as Olomoucká Jízdárna, Bistro Paulus, and Hotel Flora. Jan Buka, the new director of Charita Olomouc, will welcome participants. Father Pavel Stefan, president of the Archdiocese Charity Olomouc, will bless the soups and assist in serving them alongside local actors, directors, and athletes.
