Diocese of Bordeaux to renew appeal for Denier de l’Église on All Saints' Day

The Diocese of Bordeaux is renewing its appeal for the Denier de l’Église on All Saints' Day to support the mission of the Church in Gironde. This collection provides one third of the diocese's resources and is used to pay priests and the salaries of lay employees serving the diocese.

The diocese reports that the number of donors to the Denier has decreased by 30% over the last ten years. Officials are seeking to reach new generations, specifically working professionals between the ages of 25 and 45, who may be unfamiliar with this method of support.

As of late October, 45% of the expected funds for the 2026 Denier have not yet been collected. The funds support the work of priests and lay staff across 56 parishes in the Gironde region.
