Diocese of Orange Welcomes New Class of Permanent Deacons
First source report
The Diocese of Orange ordained 12 new permanent deacons on Saturday, Oct. 10, at Christ Cathedral. The men completed nearly five years of formal formation that began in December 2021.
The new deacons join the Office of the Diaconate, which consists of 138 active members and 181 total members. Among the new ordinands were Jim Hart, who noted the influence of his father's service as a deacon, and Arturo Gonzalez, who said he felt called to the ministry after being approached by Bishop Kevin Vann and a parish priest.
