Dioceses of Puglia meet on universal mission

Dioceses in Puglia held a regional missionary meeting at the Pontifical Regional Seminary in Molfetta to discuss renewing missionary work, involving young people, and building relationships with those on the margins. The meeting brought together 120 participants, including representatives from 19 diocesan missionary centers, pastoral offices, missionary institutes, and religious orders.

Archbishop Giuseppe Satriano, President of the Puglia Episcopal Conference and Archbishop of Bari-Bitonto, provided the introduction. Don Federico Marino of the Archdiocese of Taranto presented a summary of preparatory documents collected from churches across the region.

Participants discussed ways to make missionary work a shared daily commitment in parishes and to improve collaboration between different pastoral areas. The discussions identified significant local initiatives but also noted challenges such as fragmented activities, limited participation, and difficulty maintaining long-term projects. The meeting was held during the centenary year of World Mission Day.
