Bishop Sebastián Chico Martínez presides over Eucharist

Bishop Sebastián Chico Martínez presided over a Mass on September 18 to mark the start of the new term for the diocesan Curia in Jaén. The liturgy took place at the Casa de la Iglesia and included priests such as Vicar General Juan Ignacio Damas, Seminary Rector Juan Francisco Ortiz, Miguel Lendínez, Francisco Javier Cova, and Judicial Vicar Andrés Segura.

During his homily, Bishop Martínez told the Curia staff and officials that their work must center on Christ rather than administrative tasks or meetings. He stated that the Curia serves the mission of the Church and should not function solely as an administrative structure. He encouraged the staff to align their duties with the current pastoral plan, which uses the theme "You are the light of the world," to support the diocese's missionary efforts.
