Ethiopia's Catholic Bishops issue pastoral appeal for peace
First source report
The Catholic bishops of Ethiopia issued a pastoral appeal for peace and prayer following recent calls for calm in the Tigray region.
The bishops stated that armed conflict worsens existing problems and expressed sorrow that the most vulnerable people suffer the most from the violence. Their appeal follows a request for peace made by Pope Leo XIV for the embattled Tigray region during his recent General Audience and Angelus.
