Holy Ghost Prep Soccer Appears as Powerhouse in PCL Debut Season
First source report
Holy Ghost Prep boys' soccer won three consecutive matches to start its first season in the Philadelphia Catholic League. The team outscored Archbishop Carroll, Lansdale Catholic, and Conwell-Egan with a combined score of 15-1.
The Firebirds opened their league debut on Sept. 9 with a 10-1 win over Archbishop Carroll. Junior tri-captain John Pawlowski scored the first goal in the school's Philadelphia Catholic League history and added three more during that match.
Senior tri-captain Sean Fleming said some players initially felt intimidated or uncertain about competing in a strong league, though the team was excited to join. The first place Firebirds are scheduled to play second place Archbishop Wood at 3 p.m. Saturday at Ramp Playground during the league's annual Play Day.
