Homélie de la messe d’action de grâce pour la visite en France du Pape Léon

Pope Leo XIV will visit France to meet with local communities, according to a homily delivered at the Notre-Dame-des-Doms Cathedral in Avignon on September 20, 2026. The Archdiocese of Avignon stated that the Pope's itinerary includes stops in Paris, Saint-Denis, Lourdes, and Metz.

The Pope intends to pray with the faithful, share words of encouragement, and observe the current state of the Church in France. During his visit, he is scheduled to visit UNESCO in Paris.

At the start of his pontificate, the Pope sent a letter to French Catholics asking them to pray for the country and for the people of God. The Archdiocese noted that the upcoming visit serves as a mission to support the Church as it navigates challenges such as materialism and individualism.
