Five free musical recitals to commemorate the 800th anniversary of Saint Francis of Assisi in Lisbon
First source report
A Égide – Associação Portuguesa das Artes is hosting five free recitals at the Igreja Paroquial de Nossa Senhora do Rosário de Fátima in Lisbon through December. The program, Ciclo Áureo, is part of the commemorations for the 800 years of Saint Francis of Assisi and uses music to approach Franciscan spirituality.
The next recital, Irmã Água, is scheduled for today at 12h40 and features musicians António Lourenço Menezes and Vicente Morgado. Maestro Nuno Miguel de Almeida serves as the curator.
Four more recitals will take place between November and December. Each performance will draw from the seven evocations in the Cântico das Criaturas, using elements such as the sun, moon, water, fire, earth, and all creatures to create musical journeys related to the spirituality of Saint Francis.
