Institute for Family Studies publishes study on young religious men
First source report
The Institute for Family Studies published findings from its Young Men’s Survey showing that religious practice correlates with higher rates of marriage and family formation among American men aged 18 to 29. The survey, conducted in April 2025, indicates that 27 percent of religious men in this age group are married, while only 9 percent of secular men are married.
Among men who attend religious services weekly, 94 percent are either married or desire to marry. This compares to 63 percent among those who attend services less frequently. The study also found that religious young men are more likely to have children or express a desire to have them.
The data shows that only 18 percent of young American men attend religious services every week, while 53 percent attend less than once a year or not at all. According to the report, these findings suggest that religious practice and marriage rates are closely related rather than being independent cultural developments.
