Cardenal Fernando Chomali invites faithful to celebrate 100 years of the Coronation of the Virgin of Carmen

Cardinal Fernando Chomali, the Archbishop of Santiago, is inviting the faithful to participate in a procession on Sunday, September 27, to mark the centenary of the Pontifical Coronation of the Virgin of Mount Carmel.

The Archdiocese of Santiago released videos on Monday featuring the cardinal alongside various public figures and families to encourage participation in the event. The procession commemorates 100 years since the coronation of the Virgin of Mount Carmel, whom the Church recognizes as the Mother and Queen of Chile.

Chomali described the procession as a collective prayer for Chile and an opportunity for believers to gather. He stated that the event serves as a moment to recognize faith in Jesus Christ and the role of Mary in leading believers toward him.
