Mission chez nous proposes a prayer for reconciliation on September 30

Mission chez nous has released a prayer for reconciliation to be used on September 30 for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The Catholic organization suggests the prayer can be read during Eucharistic celebrations, community gatherings, or for personal prayer.

The prayer was composed by Noëlla McKenzie, an elder from the Mani-utenam community in the Diocese of Baie-Comeau. McKenzie attended the Mani-utenam residential school from age 6 to 16.

The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation serves to honor survivors and remember children who did not return from residential schools. It also recognizes the impact of these institutions on families and communities.
