Bishop Rui Valério begins pastoral visit to Sacavém
First source report
The Patriarch of Lisbon, Bishop Rui Valério, began a pastoral visit to the Sacavém deanery on Saturday. During the opening Mass at the Catujal Desportivo Pavilion, the bishop called on local communities to commit to active charity and service to others.
A procession with a pilgrim image of Our Lady of Fatima took place through the streets of Catujal and concluded at the Church of São José de Nazaré. Bishop Valério encouraged parishes to walk together in unity as the family of God.
The local parish priest, Father Rui Cantarilho, announced that the pilgrim image will remain in Catujal until October 30. This is the last of the nine parishes in the Sacavém deanery to host the image. The visit includes daily celebrations, the recitation of the Rosary, and visits to local neighborhoods.
