MASS OF THANKSGIVING IN KARAGANDA

First source report

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

Bishop Piotr Pytlowany presided over a Mass of Thanksgiving at the Minor Basilica of Saint Joseph in Karaganda on October 11. This served as the first liturgical celebration for the bishop following his episcopal ordination and the start of his ministry as the Ordinary of the Diocese of Karaganda.

Mitred Archpriest Vasyl Hovera, the Apostolic Administrator for the Byzantine rite faithful in Kazakhstan and Central Asia, participated in the Mass. The basilica where the celebration occurred is noted for its historical connection to religious persecution.
