Diocese of Cuenca launches Child Equilibrist program

The Family Guidance Center of the Diocese of Cuenca has launched the Niño Equilibrista (Child Equilibrist) program to support children of separated and divorced parents. According to Marta Guillén Tena, director of the center, the program uses a mutual support group model to help children navigate the balancing of loyalties that often occurs during parental separations and legal disputes.

The program aims to provide a space where children feel heard and have their pain acknowledged. Guillén Tena stated that the initiative helps children understand they can love both parents equally and reassures them that their parents will remain their parents regardless of the separation.
