Papst: „Ich hoffe auf einen Besuch in Deutschland“

Pope Leo XIV expressed his hope to visit Germany in the near future, according to statements made to journalists during his flight from France to Rome on Monday evening.

While the Pope has received an invitation to Germany, he noted that no specific date has been set for the trip. He asked for patience, mentioning that he has been pope for approximately 15 months. Before his election, he was familiar with the country through his role as the head of the global Augustinian Order.

During the same press conference, the Pope expressed confidence in a positive development for the German Church despite its current crisis. He also confirmed plans to travel to Korea within the coming year for World Youth Day.
