Parishes, schools plan Veterans Day observances

Several parishes and schools have scheduled events to observe Veterans Day this November.

The Knights of Columbus Council at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Whiting will hold a service on Nov. 8 following the noon Mass. St. Michael Parish in West End will host a Veterans Appreciation Celebration on Nov. 11 at 6 p.m. in the parish hall. This event includes a POW/MIA Serviceman Ceremony, veteran testimonials, and a U.S. Flag Retirement Ceremony. Participants may bring flags for disposal and must register by Nov. 8.

In Marlton, St. Joan of Arc School will host a spaghetti dinner for veterans and their spouses on Nov. 4 at 6:15 p.m. St. Joan of Arc Parish will recognize veterans during the 9 a.m. Mass on Nov. 13, followed by a breakfast in the school hall.

St. Benedict Parish in Holmdel will hold a parade and prayer service on Nov. 9 at 12:40 p.m. St. Anthony of Padua Parish in Hightstown will observe the day by praying the Patriotic Rosary.
