Diocese of Prato prepares for St. Francis' feast

The Diocese of Prato is holding a series of celebrations from September 24 to October 4 to mark the feast of St. Francis of Assisi and the 800th anniversary of his death. The program includes a novena, a triduum, and the solemnity on October 4, involving the Church of San Francesco and several other major churches throughout the city.

The novena will take place at the Church of San Francesco from September 24 to October 2, featuring daily Mass and novena prayers, along with an organ concert dedicated to the saint. The triduum will consist of three meditation evenings held in different churches, focusing on spiritual themes such as Greccio, La Verna, and the Canticle of the Creatures.

All Franciscan groups within the diocese are participating in the events to connect different vocations and ways of life within the Franciscan family. The celebrations aim to engage the local community in remembering the saint and his gospel witness.
