Padre Pío celebrates last Mass

Saint Padre Pio celebrated his final Mass on September 22, 1968, just hours before his death. Although he initially requested to celebrate a Low Mass due to fatigue, he ultimately offered a Solemn Mass for a crowd of pilgrims.

Video footage of this Eucharist exists. After the Mass, he renewed his Franciscan vows, made a confession, and prayed the Rosary before dying at 2:30 a.m. The Father Guardian of the monastery reported that the stigmata on his hands, feet, and side disappeared ten minutes after his death.
