Delegat KEP ds. Duszpasterstwa Nauczycieli issues statement on Dzień Edukacji Narodowej

Father Ireneusz Baran, the delegate of the KEP for the Pastoral Care of Teachers, issued a statement for National Education Day on October 14, 2026. He expressed gratitude to teachers and educators while addressing recent violent incidents in schools in Ostrołęka, Leszczydole-Nowiny, and other locations.

Baran offered prayers for those affected by these tragedies, including a deceased school employee, her family, injured teachers and students, and local communities. He also requested prayers for the young people who committed the acts. He suggested that aggression from youth often serves as a plea for love and attention, and he urged people to avoid making harmful, generalized judgments about school staff.

The delegate emphasized the need for support and cooperation for educators. He noted that these circumstances highlight the importance of pedagogues with a vocation and called for a responsible approach to the challenges facing the educational community.
