Bishop Angelo Spina speaks at conference on St. Francis

Bishop Angelo Spina spoke about the relevance of St. Francis's message regarding peace, non-violence, and interreligious dialogue during a conference held at the former St. Francis convent in Alto. Addressing the gathering, Spina noted that while religions differ, St. Francis demonstrates that people are equal in humanity and united for peace. He connected these themes to the local context of Ancona, where 101 different ethnicities live and foreign nationals make up 16% of the population.

The conference focused on St. Francis's journey to the Holy Land and his meeting with Sultan al-Malik al-Kamil. This event was the second in a series titled "Francesco nelle Marche, terra dei fioretti – 800 anni," organized by the Ufficio di Presidenza del Consiglio regionale in collaboration with journalist Claudio Sargenti. Students from the Istituto Savoia-Benincasa of Ancona attended the meeting alongside their teachers.
