Archbishop Aurel Percă consecrated the Roman Catholic chapel in Măcin on Saturday, September 26, 2026. The building, originally constructed in 1913, underwent renovations to address previous degradation.

The updated chapel now includes a new altar, tabernacle, lectern, and a painting by Pier Bertig. During the liturgy, Archbishop Percă commented on a parable from the Gospel regarding the importance of choosing between "yes" and "no."

Parish priest Romeo Horvat welcomed the Archbishop to the community. The Archbishop was accompanied by Father Gabriel Popa and Father Ionel Pojum. A choir from the Roman Catholic parish in Galați provided music for the service.
