Sisters of Mercy open modern business hub in Mansa

The Sisters of Mercy have opened the Sisters of Mercy Hub (SOM Hub) in Mansa, a modern commercial facility designed to generate income for the congregation and provide local services.

Superior General Sr. Delphine Kalisha said the hub was established to reduce the travel time and expense families previously faced when seeking specialized healthcare, eye care, and commercial services in major urban centers. The facility will host partners such as Vision Care, Mobile City, and Dynalab to provide these services within the community.

Revenue from the hub will fund the congregation's charitable works and create jobs for local residents. Sr. Kalisha also noted that the hub provides business space to support women entrepreneurs. During the launch, she thanked the Bishop of Mansa, Patrick Chisanga, along with neighbors, supporters, and the construction contractor, for their help with the project.
