Archbishop Lori rededicates St. Francis of Assisi in Fulton

Archbishop William E. Lori rededicated the renovated St. Francis of Assisi church in Fulton on Sept. 17. The renovation transformed the building from a multi-functional space with movable chairs into a permanent church.

The updated worship space now includes wooden pews, ceramic tiles, a larger sanctuary, and permanent confessionals. The project also added a dedicated area featuring a new organ for the parish music program.

During his homily, Archbishop Lori stated the dedication honors God and coincides with the 800th anniversary of the death of St. Francis of Assisi. Siobhan Cooney, the pastorate director of faith formation at St. Francis, noted that the building previously served as a flexible space for classrooms and events.
