St Mark’s Parish Pilgrimage To Medjugorje
First source report
St Mark’s Parish pilgrims recently traveled to Medjugorje for a spiritual pilgrimage, according to a reflection by parishioner Chris Housden.
The group departed by coach on September 16 and stayed at the Hotel Leone. During the trip, pilgrims attended English-speaking Mass at the St James parish church and visited the Eucharistic Chapel and the statue of the Risen Christ. They also visited the outdoor chapel, which holds 5,000 people, to attend international Mass in Croatian with English radio translations.
The pilgrimage included visits to the Blue Cross, Apparition Hill, and Cross Mountain, sites where six young people reported seeing Mary, Queen of Peace. Housden noted that the group observed the local devotion to the five stones of Medjugorje spirituality, which include prayer, the Eucharist, Holy Scripture, monthly confession, and fasting. One notable experience involved seeing up to 30 priests available to hear confessions for hundreds of people in line.
