UCIIM Puglia to hold online meeting on artificial intelligence and human dignity

UCIIM Puglia scheduled an online meeting titled Magnifica Humanitas for Thursday, October 22, 2026, to discuss the relationship between artificial intelligence, human dignity, and ethical responsibility. The event aims to examine how technological innovation affects society, education, and human relationships while maintaining the central importance of the person.

Vittoria Fiorentino, the regional president of UCIIM Puglia, was set to introduce the meeting, which included greetings from Archbishop Franco Moscone of Manfredonia-Vieste-San Giovanni Rotondo. The program featured two presentations. Father Giovanni Antonacci, an ecclesiastical consultant for the UCIIM sections of Manfredonia, Vieste, and San Giovanni Rotondo, was scheduled to speak on how the Church faces the challenges of artificial intelligence. Michele Illiceto, a professor of philosophical anthropology at the ISSRM Saint Michael the Archangel in Foggia, was scheduled to discuss the anthropological and ethical aspects of the technology.
