Bishop Nuno Almeida encourages the diocese to help young people encounter Jesus

Bishop Nuno Almeida of Bragança-Miranda called on parents, religious leaders, and catechists to provide activities and paths that allow adolescents and young people to experience an encounter with Jesus. In a pastoral note regarding the Week of Seminaries, the bishop urged the community to respond to the shortage of priests and seminarians by following a model of going out, calling, and accompanying others.

The Catholic Church in Portugal will observe the Week of Seminaries from November 1 to November 8, 2026. During November, the staff of the St. Joseph Diocesan Seminary will organize vocational vigils in Bragança.
