Rev. Peter Haramia died on Friday, September 18, 2026

The Diocese of Bratislava reported that Father Peter Haramia died on Friday, September 18, 2026. He had served as a priest for 53 years.

The funeral Mass is scheduled for Friday, September 25, 2026, at 14:30 at the Church of St. Michael the Archangel in Jablonov. Burial rites will follow at the local cemetery in Jablonov.

After his ordination, Haramia served as a chaplain in Radošovce in 1974 and in Šaštín-Stráže in 1976. His roles included prefect of the Bratislava Seminary in 1977, parish administrator in Leopoldov in 1980, and parish administrator in Moravský Svätý Ján in 1992. He served as dean in Senica in 1995. Haramia later served as parish priest in Dojč in 2005 and in Plavecký Štvrtok in 2009, before providing pastoral assistance in Malacky in 2013. He retired in 2014.
