French Council shields Catholic institutions

France's highest constitutional authority has carved out conscience protections for Catholic institutions and pharmacists. The move was welcomed by Archbishop Laurent Ulrich of Paris. Catholic hospitals, hospices, and nursing homes will not be forced to allow euthanasia or assisted suicide on their premises.
