The Diocese of Qingdao (Tsingtao) is a Latin Church diocese of the Catholic Church in Qingdao, Shandong, China, a suffragan of the metropolitan Archdiocese of Jinan, erected as a diocese in 1946. Its cathedral episcopal see is St. Michael's Cathedral in Qingdao. Bishop Thomas Chen Tianhao, ordained in 2023 under the Sino-Vatican agreement, heads the see.

History

The Cathedral of St. Michael, in the city of Qingdao in Shandong, is the episcopal seat of the Diocese of Qingdao, also written Tsingtao (Latin: Zimtaoven(sis); German: Bistum Tsingtao; simplified Chinese: 青岛; traditional Chinese: 青島; pinyin: Qīngdǎo). A Latin Church diocese of the Catholic Church in China, it is a suffragan in the province of the metropolitan Archdiocese of Jinan.
