History
With its episcopal seat in the city of Yantai in Shandong, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Yantai, also rendered Chefoo, Zhifou, or Yentai (Latin: Ientaeven(sis), Chinese: 煙台, 芝罘), belongs to the ecclesiastical province of Jinan in eastern China while depending on the missionary Roman Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples.
