History
Sharing its boundaries with the département of the Vosges, the Diocese of Saint-Dié (Latin: Dioecesis Sancti Deodatiis; French: Diocèse de Saint-Dié) is a Latin Church ecclesiastical territory of the Catholic Church in France. The bishop's cathedra remains Saint-Dié Cathedral in the town now called Saint-Dié-des-Vosges, though since 1944 the bishop has resided in Épinal, the département's capital. The see is a suffragan within the ecclesiastical province of the metropolitan Archdiocese of Besançon.
