The Archdiocese of Taipei is the metropolitan see of the Latin Church in northern Taiwan, erected as an apostolic prefecture in 1949 and elevated to an archdiocese in 1952. Its current ordinary is Archbishop Thomas Chung An-zu, appointed in 2020.

History
Pope Pius XII erected the Apostolic Prefecture of Taipei on 30 December 1949; on 7 August 1952 it became the Archdiocese of Taipei (Latin: Archidioecesis Taipehensis), a Latin Church archdiocese of the Catholic Church in Taiwan with the suffragan sees of Chiayi, Hsinchu, Hualien, Kaohsiung, Taichung, and Tainan. Its cathedral is the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, and as Taiwan's only metropolitan it ranks as the principal episcopal see of the country.
