History
Known historically as the Diocese of Ceneda until the name was changed in 1939, the Diocese of Vittorio Veneto (Latin: Dioecesis Victoriensis Venetorum) is a Latin see in northeastern Italy with its seat in Vittorio Veneto. Ceneda began under the patriarchate of Aquileia, remaining its suffragan until that see's suppression in 1751; from 1752 until 1818 it answered to the archdiocese of Udine, and since 1818 it has belonged to the ecclesiastical province headed by the Patriarchate of Venice. The diocese's Albino Luciani Diocesan Museum houses art gathered from several of its churches.
