Pope Leo XIV visits Maison Bakhita Centre

The Pope visited the Maison Bakhita Centre for Social Support and Integration in Paris on September 26, 2026. During his second day in France, he met with staff, volunteers, and those receiving services at the center.

He thanked the Archdiocese of Paris and the Scalabrinian Sisters for their work at the facility, noting that the center provides welcome, listening, formation, and friendship.

In his address, the Pope said the center's namesake, Saint Bakhita, inspires people to recognize the role of women in building a civilization of love. He stated that the center serves as a witness to the city that people can live together with dignity and peace. He also encouraged people to see those who are invisible and to honor the dignity of every person.
