Pope Leo XIV meets youth at Stade de France

First source report

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

Pope Leo XIV met with young people during a prayer vigil at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis on Friday, September 25. After being welcomed by Bishop Étienne Guillet, the Pope watched an artistic presentation where young people dressed as saints and blesseds depicted the history of the Church in France.

During the event, the Pope responded to questions from two young people. When a young woman named Chloé asked about witnessing to those who do not share the same faith and noted a perceived indifference toward God in society, the Pope stated that God is not indifferent to humanity. He told the crowd that claiming God is dead causes people to lose their sense of existence and salvation, but emphasized that hope is found in Christ.
