Bishop Fintan Gavin celebrates Masses for new school year

Bishop Fintan Gavin celebrated two Masses for Catholic primary schools in the Diocese of Cork and Ross to pray for the new school year. The celebrations took place on Monday, September 14, at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Skibbereen and on Tuesday, September 15, at the Cathedral of St. Mary and St. Anne in Cork.

The events gathered principals, teachers, special needs assistants, and members of boards of management who support Catholic primary education. During his homily, Bishop Gavin spoke about the dignity and unique gifts of every child, noting that Catholic schools invite children to know they are loved by God. This year's theme, Invites, was taken from the Vision for Catholic Education.
