Bishop Guglielmo opens catechists' conference

Bishop Guglielmo opened a conference for catechists and religious education teachers at the Maria Santissima di Czestochowa parish in Rocca di Caprileone. The event, held in the San Giovanni Paolo II hall, focuses on transmitting the faith in the age of artificial intelligence.

During the opening, Bishop Guglielmo used the biblical story of the miraculous catch of fish to discuss shared responsibility within the Church. Fabio Valore, a permanent deacon of the Archdiocese of Catania and religious education teacher, spoke on the conference theme by referencing data from Pope Leo XIV's encyclical, Magnifica humanitas.

Valore stated that artificial intelligence reflects the character of its user through the combination of freedom and responsibility. He noted that the Church should not attempt to stop history but must protect the non-negotiable dignity of the person. Valore also emphasized that human relationships involve interaction and friction that artificial intelligence cannot replicate, concluding that God provides a face rather than just a message.
