Bishop of Caltagirone publishes book on St. Francis of Assisi and donates proceeds to children in Gaza

Bishop Calogero Peri of Caltagirone has published a book titled "Francesco ipse Christus. Identità di un vero figlio di Dio" and will donate all sales proceeds to children in Gaza. The volume, published by Respiro Edizioni, features a preface by Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa.

The work examines the life of St. Francis of Assisi in light of the 800th anniversary of his death. Bishop Peri argues that Francis was not merely an imitator of Christ, but embodied a specific Christian identity.

The Diocese of Caltagirone will begin distributing the book during the Diocesan Pastoral Assembly at the Bishop's Seminary.
