Bishop Vicent Ribas will preside over the patronal feast of Sant Carles on Wednesday, November 4. The festivities begin at noon with a solemn Mass in honor of the parish patron, followed by a traditional procession.
The Sant Carles parish was established by a 1785 decree from Mons. Manuel Abad y Lasierra, the first bishop of the Diocese of Ibiza. The decree noted that the fertile territory of es Figueral was sparsely populated due to its distance from the Santa Eulària vicarage. While the original decree suggested locating the parish in es Figueral, the parish church was instead built in the Peralta area, near the center of the parish territory. The church was likely in use by the end of the 18th century, though the porch, bell tower, and rectory were added at a later date.

Bishop Mark Freeman is encouraging members of the Diocese of Ballarat to enroll in a 2027 leadership formation program focused on synodality. The program, titled "Identity and Mission in the Synodal Church," will be held in partnership with Catholic Theological College.
The initiative follows a pilot program that enrolled 20 participants and stems from themes identified during the Ballarat Diocesan Assembly in late 2024. The upcoming phase is supported by a bursary from the Therese D’Orsa Mission Fund. Participants will study the theological, ecclesiological, and cultural frameworks that inform leadership and mission within Catholic communities.
The curriculum consists of three interconnected sessions designed to help participants develop a synodal praxis project for their specific parish, school, ministry, or diocesan setting. The first session is scheduled for December 5, 2026, to establish the cohort's purpose and introduce the theological foundations of the course.

The Diocese of Phoenix published a wellness practice reflection encouraging people to practice self-compassion when facing unintended consequences.
The reflection uses the Gospel account of the magi to illustrate how righteous actions can lead to unforeseen or negative outcomes, such as the anger of Herod. It suggests that while people seek reconciliation with God and the community after sinning, they often struggle to show compassion to themselves when circumstances turn out poorly despite their best intentions.
The practice advises individuals to accept compassion for themselves without trying to earn it or refusing it due to feelings of unworthiness.

The Diocese of Phoenix published a spiritual reflection addressing human vulnerability and the practice of walking in the light.
The reflection notes that vulnerability can stem from physical danger, trauma, disappointment, loss, illness, or financial stress. It states that while bad things happen to good people, God does not cause suffering to test individuals.
The text describes walking in the light not as a life of comfort or worldly strength, but as a commitment to renewing faithfulness to God, living justly, and loving God and neighbor. This path allows people to find collective strength and fellowship with one another.
