The Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith published a document titled Venite ad Me: Considerations on the Transmission of the Faith in an Epochal Change on October 22, 2026. The text, which was approved by Pope Leo XIV on August 21, 2026, explores how the Church can strengthen the passing of the Christian faith during a period of cultural shifts, changing family structures, and new digital technologies.
The document, signed by Prefect Cardinal Víctor Manuel Fernández and Secretary Msgr. Armando Matteo, suggests that the Church must focus on evangelizing adults in addition to the catechesis of children and teenagers. It notes that many children and adolescents distance themselves from the Church and its sacraments shortly after completing Christian initiation or Catholic schooling. The text proposes that believers center their mission on the kerygma, or the initial proclamation of the Gospel.
Comprising eight chapters, an introduction, and a conclusion, the document draws on the teachings of the Second Vatican Council and various popes. It also engages with ideas from Pope Leo XIV's first encyclical, Magnifica Humanitas, regarding artificial intelligence. The Dicastery presents the work as a set of considerations to suggest practical paths for proclamation rather than a doctrinal note intended to settle all aspects of the matter.
