Istituto Cavanis proposes Council of Laity

The Istituto Cavanis Congregazione delle Scuole di Carità has proposed the creation of a Council of Laity to share responsibility and expertise within the congregation.

The proposal suggests forming a group of qualified laypeople to assist territorial leaders in strategic areas. Members would focus on strategic discernment, the management of educational works, and the planning and optimization of resources. To prepare for these roles, the project includes a twelve month training period.

The institute states this council is intended to support its mission and preserve the Cavanis charism by utilizing professional lay skills.
