Museo Poldi Pezzoli to display Titian's 'Madonna with Child and Saint Mary Magdalene'

The Museo Poldi Pezzoli is hosting a public exhibition of a Titian painting that has never been shown to the public before. The work, titled Madonna with Child and Saint Mary Magdalene, is on long-term loan from a private collector.

The exhibition, titled “Un Tiziano per Milano,” focuses on the relationship between the painter and Milan. Curators Enrico Maria Dal Pozzolo and Lavinia Galli organized the show to mark the 450th anniversary of the artist's death. The painting, dated to approximately 1540–1550, left Milan in 1744 after being purchased from a Milanese palace by Sir Thomas Saunders Sebright V.

The exhibition includes a small selection of works and will remain open to the public until January 25, 2027.
