Lira Diocese Calls on Christians to Embrace Caritas as a Way of Life

Lira Diocese held an induction workshop on October 27, 2026, to train Caritas parish and sub-parish coordinators on their roles in community development. The workshop included deans, coordinators from the Lay Apostolate, the Women’s Desk, and the Justice and Peace Commission.

Diocesan Pastoral Coordinator Father Vincent Orum told participants that Caritas is the expression of the Church's charity and service rather than a separate ministry or association. He stated that all Christians have a responsibility to practice charity and share resources with those in need because of their baptism.

The orientation aimed to clarify coordinator responsibilities and improve the coordination of development initiatives across the diocese. Participants were encouraged to plan in the spirit of synodality to strengthen collaboration between diocesan structures and local Christian communities.
